(Updated for the 2026 event)
If you’ve considered signing your family up for St. Luke’s FitOne but worried that you aren’t “real runners,” here’s what you need to know: St. Luke’s FitOne is designed for all kinds of participants.
You can race for a personal best, jog alongside your child, walk the 5K, push a stroller or cheer for someone you love. It’s one of Boise’s biggest fall traditions and one of the most family-friendly ways to spend a Saturday morning moving together.
St. Luke’s FitOne returns to Downtown Boise on Saturday, September 26, 2026, with a 5K, 10K and half marathon. Here’s everything families need to know before registering.

Why FitOne Is Such a Great Race for Families
FitOne brings thousands of people of different ages and abilities together in the heart of Boise. Although competitive runners are certainly welcome, you don’t need to have a particular pace or fitness level to participate.
The 5K is specifically divided into three waves:
- Competitive
- Walk/jog
- Family
The family wave allows and encourages strollers, giving parents and children a comfortable way to enjoy the course together. Strollers are also permitted in the 10K and half marathon, although participants with strollers should begin toward the back of the starting corral.
Kids ages 12 and younger can participate for free with a paid adult registration. Each child must still be registered and wear a race bib on race day, even though their registration is free.
For everyone’s safety, bikes and scooters are not permitted on the courses, and only service animals are allowed.
The FitOne 5K
The 5K is the most approachable option for first-time participants, families with younger children and anyone who wants to walk or jog the course.
The route begins at Capitol Boulevard and Bannock Street in Downtown Boise and finishes at Ann Morrison Park. The course includes the climb toward the Boise Depot, so families should be prepared for a hill—but there is also a shortcut available.
The FitOne.2 Course
The FitOne.2 course is a 1.2-mile alternative designed for participants who may benefit from a shorter, more accessible route.
It follows the Greenbelt from the Boise Library to Ann Morrison Park, avoiding the hill leading to the Boise Depot before reconnecting with the regular 5K course near the finish line. Golf carts may also be available for participants who need additional assistance.
You don’t need to select a separate registration option to use this course. Simply register for the 5K.
This could be a great choice for young children, grandparents or family members who want to participate but aren’t ready for the full 5K distance.

The FitOne 10K
The 10K is a good next step for families who have completed a few 5Ks or want to train toward a bigger goal together.
It winds through Downtown Boise and offers enough distance to feel challenging without requiring the same training commitment as a half marathon. Walkers and strollers are welcome, but participants should keep in mind that the course reopens to traffic at 11 a.m.
The FitOne Half Marathon
The half marathon passes some of Boise’s most recognizable landmarks, including the Idaho State Capitol, Old Idaho Penitentiary, Idaho Botanical Garden and Boise Depot.
The 2026 half marathon is currently sold out. Anyone still hoping to participate can join the official waitlist. If space becomes available, registrants will be contacted in the order they joined and given 48 hours to claim their spot.
How Much Does FitOne Cost?
Kids ages 12 and younger participate free with a paid adult registration.
Registration prices for participants ages 13 and older through September 20 are:
- 5K: $40
- 10K: $50
- Half marathon: $60, currently sold out
Prices increase again September 21:
- 5K: $50
- 10K: $60
- Half marathon: $70, if space becomes available
Online registration remains open until noon on Friday, September 25. Participants may also register using the available laptops during packet pickup.
What Families Should Know About Packet Pickup
All race packets must be collected before race day. There is no packet pickup on Saturday morning.
Packet pickup will be available:
Wednesday, September 23–Friday, September 25
12–7 p.m.
Ann Morrison Park Fountain
1000 S. Americana Blvd., Boise
This is where you’ll receive your race bib and T-shirt and can ask any last-minute questions. They have a massive setup so you can’t miss it!
Parking and Free Race-Day Shuttles
FitOne offers free race-day shuttle service for registered participants.
Shuttles run between Boise Towne Square Mall, the Downtown Boise starting line and the Finish Festival at Ann Morrison Park. Using the shuttle can make race morning easier while helping reduce Downtown Boise traffic.
Because the start and finish are in different locations, review the current shuttle schedule and parking instructions before race day. Families should also plan to arrive at least 45–60 minutes before their scheduled start.
2026 FitOne Start Times
All three races take place Saturday, September 26:
- Half marathon: 7:15 a.m.
- 10K: 7:30 a.m.
- 5K: 9:30 a.m.
The races begin at the intersection of Capitol Boulevard and Bannock Street in Downtown Boise and finish at Ann Morrison Park.
What Happens After the Race?
All three courses end at the FitOne Finish Festival in Ann Morrison Park.
The Finish Festival gives participants and spectators a place to reconnect, celebrate and enjoy the energy of race day. A designated Family and Friends Reunion Area makes it easier to find your group after crossing the finish line.
Before separating at the start, choose a meeting location and make sure older children know where to go if your family gets separated.
Your Registration Supports Healthier Idaho Communities
FitOne is more than a community race.
Funds raised through FitOne are invested in local projects that encourage active living and healthy habits for children and families. By participating, your family isn’t only working toward your own movement goals—you’re helping create more opportunities for other Idaho families to move and thrive.
Ready to Join FitOne?
Whether your family runs, walks, pushes a stroller or chooses the shorter FitOne.2 route, there’s a way for you to participate.
You don’t need to be the fastest family at the starting line. You just need to show up, move together and enjoy one of Boise’s favorite Fall traditions!
