Ever wanted to learn to make your own costumes, but don’t know where to start? Or just want to be around other creatives and like-minded individuals while creating your one-of-a-kind look? If you’re looking for inspiration, a few simple shortcuts to design, and crafting an unforgettable Halloween costume this year, then look no further than the Sew Scary Workshops! Participants will be able to bring home their costume/pieces at the end of every workshop.

For those serious designers, JUMP will have a limited number of sewing machines (first-come-first-serve) and our costuming guide Amanda Fitch will share basic sewing tips to get you on your way!

We’ll have an assortment of materials and supplies on hand, but feel free to bring along your own materials and supplies to make your costume really come to life.

An Improvised Musical

Boise’s critically-acclaimed improv show MUSICAL MISCHIEF returns every first Friday of the month at The Green Room!

Homeschool Days @ Discovery Center of Idaho

During the school year, we will be welcoming homeschool groups to reserve and pay for their visit in advance ($15 per chaperone, $10 per child; there is no membership discount available for this program).

To enhance the experience of all of our visitors, we are limiting ticket sales, so we ask that each group attend only one Homeschool Day per exhibition.

Registrants must purchase tickets* in advance at our website; tickets for each event will go on sale two weeks ahead of the event. Please carefully consider the date options before you register, as all sales are final and we are unable to refund any ticket sales for this special program. On each date, doors will be open for registrants to check in using their pre-purchased tickets from 10 am – 12 pm at the front desk. Late arrival tickets will NOT be honored.

We are excited to offer the purchase of special take-home activity kits related to the current exhibition made just for our Homeschool day families! Details about the kits can be found using the registration link for the specific date. We ask that each family purchase only one set, which contains the materials for multiple activities, some of which can be done as a team and some which can be done for up to 4 individuals.

Kits will be available at the front desk for pick up on arrival at Homeschool Day.

The bells were cast by the historic Paccard Foundry of France, whose craftsmen carefully measured the original Liberty Bell to create historically accurate replicas.
Idaho’s bell arrived on May 28, 1950, and traveled communities throughout the state as part of the national campaign.
In 2026, it is traveling Idaho again through the America250 in Idaho Ambassadors Program. ”

Eagle Fall Crawl: One Week to Shop, Play and Connect

Eagle Magazine turns more than 20 years of community connection into a weeklong celebration, October 12–18.

For more than two decades, Eagle Magazine has told the stories of the people and businesses that make Eagle feel like home. Now, that connection is moving beyond the pages and into experiences that bring the community together in person.

Catwalk in Cabernet returns for its second year this September, and October brings back another growing tradition: Eagle Fall Crawl, happening October 12–18.

Fall Crawl was created around a simple idea: give people a reason to explore Eagle, support local businesses and spend time together.

Throughout the week, participating businesses will offer specials and activities. Eight-foot-tall inflatable Fall Crawl pumpkins will mark participating locations around town.

At the center of the week will be Heritage Park, where the gazebo becomes the Crawl Hearth Monday through Friday from 3–7 p.m. Neighbors can play board games, read, enjoy local art or simply sit for a while.

Visitors can get into the Halloween spirit early with the Crawl Con cosplay contest. Dress in an autumn or Halloween-inspired look, take a photo at the Fall Crawl backdrop and compete for one of three winning spots announced on the final day.

Of course, shopping local remains at the heart of Fall Crawl.

Visit at least three participating businesses, save your receipts and submit them to be entered for prizes.

Saturday brings the grand finale downtown, with participating businesses creating their own experiences, music filling the area and Eagle Magazine handing out hot chocolate as a thank-you to the community.

Then Sunday slows things down with a family-focused farewell featuring games, hot dogs and prizes for those who participated throughout the week.

Eagle Fall Crawl is an invitation to experience Eagle differently for an entire week—to discover a new business, meet the people behind the storefronts, bring the kids downtown, linger at Heritage Park and reconnect with neighbors.

After more than 20 years of bringing Eagle together through its pages, Eagle Magazine is finding new ways to bring that same community spirit to life.

Spooky season is taking over The Warehouse Food Hall, and the whole crew is invited. 🎃

Come dressed up or come as you are for Halloween Hangout, a family-friendly evening packed with music, dancing, kids’ activities, and plenty to eat and drink. DJ Mighty Deltaone will be spinning from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., with our costume contest taking over around 7 p.m.

Participants will be able to bring home their costume/pieces at the end of every workshop.

For those serious designers, JUMP will have a limited number of sewing machines (first-come-first-serve) and our costuming guide Amanda Fitch will share basic sewing tips to get you on your way!

We’ll have an assortment of materials and supplies on hand, but feel free to bring along your own materials and supplies to make your costume really come to life.

Homeschool students and their families are encouraged to explore the Museum and experience the stories of Idaho on selected Homeschool Days each month from 10am – 3pm.

Join us on the first Friday and third Wednesday of each month! Please note: We will not be hosting this program on some dates due to events happening in Julia Davis Park.

Admission is $4 per student (Youth 2 and up) and adults/teachers in a 1:1 ratio are $5, any additional adults must pay regular admission. For ISHS Members, admission is $2 per student (Youth 2 and up) and all adults are $2.50. Preregistration is required; Walkups will not be accommodated. Payment is due at the time of reservation and is non-refundable.

To ensure an enjoyable experience for all participants, we are implementing timed entry ticketing. When registering, please select an arrival time that works best for your schedule. Everyone will have until 3:00 PM to participate in the classroom activity.

Meridian’s annual Truck or Treat is pure Halloween magic—high-energy, high-spirited, and absolutely packed with fun.

Costumes, music, a buzzing dance floor, and lively performances turn the night into a full-on fall party where kids can dance, laugh, and let loose while families soak up the festive vibe.

It’s that unmistakable community energy that makes Meridian special with more than 90 businesses decorating their vehicles and handing out candy.

If you’re looking for the most exciting, feel-good Halloween celebration in town, Truck or Treat is where everyone wants to be.

Join us, if you dare, for our 4^th annual Night of a Thousand Pumpkins! Come dressed as your favorite ghoul and go through the always popular Trunk-or-Treat, witness the spooky decorations throughout the grounds of the Haunted City Hall, take part in the Return of the Chili Cook Off, and see the spectacle of 1,000 carved jack-o-lanterns placed throughout the entire area. And as the night goes on, there will be plenty of other activities and food trucks to help keep you busy with spooky fun.

We will also be collecting food donations for those in need. The Eagle Food Bank will provide donation bins for canned and other non-perishable food items, located inside Eagle City Hall and the Community Hall during the event. The event is free to attend, donations are not required, but gladly accepted.
