Bonus: it’s right along the Greenbelt so you can walk or bike to make it a whole adventure! There’s even live music on occasion and a playful, casual vibe that makes it easy to relax as a parent.

This trio of locally loved spots shares a patio and makes for a dream combo for parents and kids alike. Grab a burger or sandwich from Wyld Child, a coffee or specialty drink from Push + Pour, and finish with a scoop (or two) of amazing ice cream from The STIL. The shared outdoor space has seating for everyone, and the vibe is modern and chill — perfect for families who want a little bit of everything.

Sandbar Patio Bar & Grill

Located right behind The Riverside Hotel, Sandbar is an easy stop off the Greenbelt with a huge open-air patio and frequent live music. It’s ideal for a sunny brunch or casual dinner with kids in tow. Their kids menu has the basics, the staff is friendly, and there’s room to stretch out while you wait. After eating, the Greenbelt makes for a great family walk.

Bittercreek Alehouse

Bittercreek is a great place for kids and adults right on 8th street. Their shaded sidewalk patio is a fun spot for older kids who enjoy a little city energy. The kid’s menu has the basics and parents can enjoy a great local beer selection. Plus, they’re known for using locally sourced ingredients, so everyone eats well. Plus, it’s pretty close to Freak Alley so you can do our Freak Alley scavenger hunt while you’re perusing downtown.

Smoky Mountain Pizzeria

There are a few Smoky Mountain Pizzeria locations in the Treasure Valley, but patios differ at each location. This local gem is perfect for families who want a laid-back patio and friendly service. The menu is full of kid-pleasers – think pizza, pasta, and fun appetizers – and the outdoor space is quiet, shady, and perfect for chatting while the kids color or enjoy an outdoor meal. It was even voted “Best Patio”!

Lucky 13
