Dozer Day® is like going to a fair only our rides are real heavy construction equipment. Kids hop in the driver’s seat and actually drive dozers, excavators, and other heavy equipment with a professional operator at their side. Not only is it a dream-come-true for kids (and fun for the whole family), the event also benefits many children’s charities.
Dozer Day is an annual community event hosted by the excavation industry to give kids an opportunity to operate real heavy construction equipment and enjoy many other excavation-related activities for less than the cost of going to the movies. Dozer day has something for everyone with food trucks, giveaways, pipe and tire crawls, fire trucks, and many other awesome activities. Kids get to hop into the cab of heavy equipment so they & their families learn about the construction & utility industry and career choices in the trades. This event showcases construction-based career choices while raising money from which grants are made to local children’s charities, schools & to support the excavation industry through education, safety training & workforce development funds.

DOGTOBERFEST
Saturday, October 4, 2025• 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Dog Costume Contest•Food & Beer •Music
Pints & Pups
Only one day a year we break our own rules. Any rule breakers out there, this is your moment! Typically, K-9s aren’t allowed on Indian Creek Plaza, and I’m sure you’ve seen all our signs saying so. But, for this event only, we put all that signage in storage for the afternoon and welcome all your 4-legged besties to the party. Not only are they invited, but they ARE the party! We cater to all things dog for our annual Dogtoberfest.
We’re going full Bavarian on this one and putting our own twist on the centuries-old German Oktoberfest. What better way to celebrate doggo than to have a cold beer in one hand and a leash in the other. This is a great opportunity for those water lovin’ pups to enjoy our splash pad for the afternoon.
Some event highlights include “Running of the Wieners,” so pack up those Dachshunds and bring them on down to the plaza. They’re just so fun to watch! Dress up your pup in their finest threads ‘cause there’s a costume contest. Go all out! Think you have the forearm strength of a 19th-century Bavarian farmer? Prove it! We’re having a Stein Holding Contest, so get those arms prepped and ready for the occasion.
Celebrate Oktoberfest at The Riverside Hotel on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 2–6:30pm! Enjoy live music from Jonathan Warren and the Billy Goats, traditional games like stein holding, axe throwing, cornhole, and more, plus a best dressed contest with prizes. Kids can join the fun with face painting, games, and a coloring area. Stein packages, beer tastings, and game participation (tokens required) are available for purchase, along with a family-friendly grill menu. Free entry for all ages.
Staying the night? Room package prices starting at $229 plus tax includes a standard room and breakfast for two, two Oktoberfest steins, and four game tokens and three beer tastings per paying adult. Call 208-343-1871 and ask for the Oktoberfest Rate.
