Garden City America 250 Celebration with Free Traditional Chinese Dance Performances
August 7 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pmFREE
The community is invited to kick off Garden City’s America 250 Celebration with a free evening of cultural performances featuring Boise Traditional Chinese Dance on Friday, August 7, at Creative Space, located at 121 E. 34th Street in Garden City.
Two performances will be offered at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Admission is free, and guests of all ages are welcome.
Presented in the comfort of Creative Space’s air-conditioned theater, the family-friendly event celebrates the rich cultural traditions that continue to strengthen and enrich Garden City while honoring the many people and cultures whose stories have shaped America over the past 250 years.
The showcase will feature a vibrant selection of traditional dances representing several regions, ethnic traditions, and artistic styles from across China.
“This celebration reflects the spirit of America by recognizing the many cultures that have contributed to our nation’s story,” said event organizers. “Through the universal language of the arts, we hope to bring our community together in a meaningful and memorable way as we begin Garden City’s America 250 celebration.”
Each performance lasts approximately 30 minutes, and both performances feature the same program. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and guests are encouraged to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early.
The event coincides with Garden City’s First Friday, when the Live-Work-Create District comes alive with local restaurants, wineries, breweries, galleries, artists, shops, and entertainment. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy dinner, refreshments, and the neighborhood before or after the performance, making it a perfect evening to experience one of Idaho’s most vibrant creative districts.
Convenient parking is available at Creative Space, with additional overflow parking located adjacent to the venue.
This performance marks the first public celebration in Garden City’s multiphase America 250 Initiative, which commemorates the nation’s 250th anniversary through arts, history, culture, and community engagement. A future phase will include the dedication of a new public mural, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and an additional community celebration.
The event is presented through a collaboration between the City of Garden City, Garden City Visitors Bureau, Garden City Chamber of Commerce, and Boise Traditional Chinese Dance, with support from the national America 250 initiative.

2026 Boise Baroque Orchestra Summer Music Festival – A Musical Passport
We are delighted to invite you on an extraordinary journey.
This summer, the Boise Baroque Orchestra presents A Musical Passport, three concerts that cross centuries and continents, bringing the color, drama, and beauty of the Baroque era to life in two beautiful Treasure Valley venues.
Bring a friend and join the Boise Baroque Orchestra for a voyage to Spain, conducted by Interim Artistic Director Daniel Wiley.
Spain comes alive through three remarkable musical lenses. Boccherini’s Musica Notturna delle Strade di Madrid conjures the sights and sounds of nighttime Madrid; a suite drawn from Campra’s L’Europe galante reflects the French Baroque’s fascination with Spanish style; and Arriaga’s Symphony in D brings the evening to a triumphant close.
This special performance will be held indoors at Cathedral of the Rockies Boise, 717 N 11th St #4, Boise, ID 83702.
The Program
Musica notturna delle strade di Madrid, G.324 by Luigi Boccherini

August 13, 20267:00 pm – 10:00 pm The Egyptian Theatre
BALANCE: A Perimenopause Journey is for every woman who has ever felt “off,” dismissed by doctors, or wondered why her body suddenly feels unfamiliar. Through personal journeys, raw patient stories, celebrity voices, and leading experts, BALANCE pulls back the curtain on the truth about perimenopause and menopause—and shows that you are not alone. Honest, eye-opening, and deeply relatable, this is more than a docuseries—it’s a path toward answers, healing, and hope.

Jill Keely, CNM
For over 25 years, I’ve had the honor of walking alongside women and families during one of life’s most transformative moments — the journey of bringing new life into the world. My own path into midwifery began with motherhood itself; as a mom of three now-grown children, I know firsthand the power, vulnerability, and beauty that birth holds.
I started my work in birth as a doula in 2000, spending 15 years supporting families and learning the art of presence and advocacy. That passion led me to nursing school, graduating in 2017, where I fell in love with labor and delivery nursing — so much so that what was meant to be a one-year requirement before midwifery school became seven deeply fulfilling years at St. Luke’s. I graduated from Midwifery school in 2024. Each role I’ve held has shaped the next, layering my perspective and deepening my commitment to the work I do today as a midwife.
My practice is rooted in a fierce belief in physiologic birth and the power of great birth stories — no matter the outcome. I am passionate about creating birth experiences where families feel informed, respected, and in control. My evidence-based fellowship research with St. Luke’s focused on birth trauma, revealing that trauma is rarely about how birth unfolds, but rather about whether families feel they have agency throughout the process. That understanding shapes every interaction I have in the birth space.
When I’m not attending births, you’ll find me hiking, biking, traveling with my high school sweetheart, playing with my grandchildren, and enjoying everything the beautiful Treasure Valley has to offer.

The Boise Baroque Institute offers high school musicians an immersive, hands-on introduction to historical performance practice through rehearsal and performance of Baroque masterworks. Students will study and perform music by Henry Purcell, Georg Philipp Telemann, and Arcangelo Corelli, using Baroque bows and stylistic techniques alongside principal string players of the Boise Baroque Orchestra. The program emphasizes period style, ensemble leadership, and historically informed musicianship.
This special performance will be held indoors at Cathedral of the Rockies Boise, 717 N 11th St #4, Boise, ID 83702.
The Program
Overture to Dido and Aeneas by Henry Purcell
Concerto polonois in G Major, by Georg Philipp Telemann
Concerto grosso in C Major; Op. 6 No. 10, by Arcangelo Corelli

Summer in Eagle, Idaho means warm evenings, good music, and neighbors coming together — and for years, First Interstate Bank has been proud to help make that possible.
We’re once again a sponsor of the Gazebo Concert Series, held at Heritage Park in partnership with the City of Eagle. At First Interstate, we believe that strong communities make strong banks, not the other way around. Our roots run deep in the neighborhoods where we live and work, and supporting events like the Gazebo Concert Series is just one of the ways we invest in the fabric of our neighborhoods.
The Gazebo Concert Series may feel like an evening of music. For us, it represents something deeper: a chance to celebrate the people and places we call home.

We are excited to offer the purchase of special take-home activity kits related to the current exhibition made just for our Homeschool day families!
